IndeX Marks the Spot [Public installation, 2011]
Buoys; 50 x 50 x 5 m

In the harbour of Lickershamn on the west coast of Gotland an x is drawn in the water by fishing buoys. Children from the nearby school are asked to bury a treasure on the bottom of the sea at the marked spot, thus engaging the whole community in the small parish including teachers, relatives, boat owners and spectators.

The treasure is going to be a time capsule that will contain documentation of the community presenting 2011 for future finders of the treasure. Public records of the sea burial will attempt to assure it will not be forgotten and suggested to be opened in 50 years. The challenge will be do use documentation that is likely to survive and be legible in such long time.
